It feels almost like a lifetime ago, in a different life that I experienced all these different emotions.

If I close my eyes I can see those streets,
feel the same breeze,
the same uncertainty that I covered up with feigned maturity.

Where has my spirit gone
the one that wanted to explore the world
now that I’m on the other side of it.

The reality is that it’s the same
but so very different.
If only I could turn back time
and tell myself to brace myself

I wish we paid more attention to warning signs
and when we do, to actually pay attention to them.

All of a sudden nothing feels real anymore except You.
